Funeral services for Gilbert Wayne Blue, a lifelong Coalgate, OK resident, were held Monday, August 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Coalgate Church of Christ with Wendell Ingram and Alan Harper officiating. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Wayne was born on Wednesday, December 3, 1952 to Gilbert Aaron and Margie Marie (Franklin) Blue, at Coalgate, OK. Wayne passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at his home in Coalgate, OK at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 3 days. He graduated from Coalgate Public Schools with the Class of 1971.

Wayne was a cattle rancher. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserve. Wayne married Micki Lynn Ward on Friday, May 2, 1975 at the Coalgate Church of Christ. They have been blessed with 51 wonderful years together. He was a member of Coalgate Church of Christ. Wayne enjoyed all types of hunting, especially coon hunting, fishing, always helping the kids with their show animals, and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include Micki Lynn Blue of the home; sons, Aaron Blue and wife Kayla and Berney Blue and wife Cheyenne all of Coalgate; grandchildren, Gavin Blue and wife Hailey, Rylie Blue, Asher Blue and Skylar Blue all of Coalgate; great-grandchildren, Layton Blue and Sutton Wayne Blue both of Coalgate; cousin, Ernie Fanning and wife Debbie of Coalgate; sisters-in-law, Cindy Wesley and husband Edward of Okemah, OK, Marilyn Epperson and husband Bobby of Norman, OK; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. As special thank you to Kerrie Parker, Ragen Bowen and Dyanna Price for taking such good care of Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Margie (Franklin) Blue and cousin, Brenda Burns.

Casketbearers were Jim Battles, Steve Burris, David Battles, Henry Ringles, Greg Thomas, and Rusty Price. Serving as honorary bearers were men of the Coalgate Church of Christ, Steve Cooper, Mike Hensley, Mike Williams, Ray Jordan, Korbin Mehaffey, Clint Mowdy, Jack Bryant, Shane Sallee, Roger Langston, Michael Farmer, Kevin Mallow, Johnnie Bellettini, and Kelly Campbell.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or The Micki Blue Scholarship Fund.
