John Douglas Norris, a Coalgate resident, was born on April 19, 1966, to Larry Leon and Shirley Jean (Holloman) Norris, at Fort Worth, Texas. He passed away on June 18, 2026, at Ada, Oklahoma, at the age of 60 years, 1 month and 30 days. John graduated from the Easter Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas then attended the Lincoln Technical Institute. He worked as an auto mechanic. John attended the Cottonwood Baptist Church. He liked working on cars and fishing. John was a gun enthusiast.

Survivors include his brother, Brodie Norris of Roanoke, TX; sister-in-law, Tammy Norris of Saginaw, TX; nephew, Dakota Norris of Saginaw, TX; aunt, Sandra Weldon of Stockton, CA, along with numerous friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Leon and Shirley Jean (Holloman) Norris; brother, Tim Norris; nephew, Joshua Norris; aunt, Marilyn Nevins; grandmother, Annie Mae Nevins; grandfather, John Thomas Nevins; and grandfather, Cecil Everett Norris.
