Norman Ray Cummins
A memorial service will be planned later for Norman Ray Cummins, a Stigler resident.
Norman was born on August 21, 1944, to Ray Leon and Lydia Bell (Cook) Cummins, at Stuart, OK. He passed away on July 24, 2026 at Stigler, OK at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 3 days. Norman attended Coalgate High School.
He worked as a Coal County Deputy, worked in the oilfield as a laborer, and as a salesman.
He proudly served his country in The United States Navy. Norman enjoyed watching old movies and telling jokes. He loved his animals and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Norman Ray Cummins, Jr. and wife Pia Hamalainen-Cummins of Sterling, VA; grandson, Jett Cummins of Sterling, VA; granddaughter, Zoe Cummins of Sterling, VA; brother Randy Cummins and wife Shirley of Cottonwood, OK; sisters, Glenda Fisher and husband Leroy of Byars, OK, Gloria Welch of Coalgate, Newanna Dennett and husband Loyd and Cherrie Richardson and husband Kenny all of Arkansas, Rita Taylor and husband Frank Richard of Hennepin, IL; along with many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Leon and Lydia Bell (Cook) Cummins; brother, Dale Cummins; sisters, Joy Cummins, and Kay Collins; brothers-in-law, Harold Collins, and Bill Welch; and nephew, Chad Welch.
Interment was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
