Our sympathy is extended to the family of Muriel Ann Parker

Funeral services for Muriel Ann (Henault) Parker, a Coalgate resident, will be held Wednesday, (today) April 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Coalgate. Family night was Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgaate. Interment will be in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Parker was born on Wednesday, July 5, 1933, to Edward and Evelyn Henault (LeClair) Henault, at Florence, MA and passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 92 years, 8 months and 23 days. She attended North Hampton High School before going on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State and North Texas Universities. Muriel was a real estate broker. She proudly served her country in the United States Navy, where she met and married Marion Charles Parker on Wednesday, September 5th, 1956 at Pensacola, Florida.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Coalgate. Muriel served the City of Coalgate for 20 years, 13 years as city council and 7 years as Mayor. Muriel loved gardening and was very good at it, spending time with family, grandkids, and great-grandkids, making sure everyone had plenty to eat.

She is survived by her husband, Marion Charles Parker of Coalgate; sons, Mitch Parker and Matthew Parker and wife MarjorieallofCoalgate; granddaughters, Carmen Garrett and husband John of Calumet, OK, and Leslie Parker of Dallas, TX; grandson, Casey Parker of Liberty, TX; great-grandchildren, Ryder Garrett and Olivia Garrett of Calumet, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward James and Evelyn (LeClair) Henault; daughter, Mariel Parker; sisters, Gloria McCullough, Ruth O’Brien, and Irene O’Conner; brother, Jimmy Hanault; and baby sister, Clair Henault.

Casketbearers will be Michael Maxwell, Alan Whitehead, Justin Pope, Brian Pope, Ben Ward, Jarrod Hatcher and John Garrett. Serving as honorary bearers will be Larry Pope, Jim Klingler, Jimmy Avanzini, Joe Avanzini, Jim Cox, Steve Sandmann, Roger Cosper, Ruth Wilson Hurley Manor Nursing Staff, Brent Lowe and Ramsey Burris.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
