Violet May (Rutherford) Lick, a Coalgate resident, was born on September 22, 1947, to Bert C. Rutherford and Pearl Faye (Compton) Tisdale, at Oroville, California. She passed away on May 26, 2026, at Ada, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 4 days. Violet attended school at Plano. She married Jimmy Wayne Lick on January 22, 1968, at Coalgate, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 58 years together where she was a loving homemaker and housewife. Violet enjoyed cooking, sewing and going to the casino. She loved being outdoors and going fishing.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Wayne Lick of the home in Coalgate; children, Donna Watson of Tupelo, Bobby Lick and wife Charla of Hugo, Carl Gold of Phillips, James Sullivan and Jackie Rutherford both of Coalgate; siblings, Wanda Fay O’Brannon and husband Mike of Mustang, OK, Brenda Raawe and husband Rick of Pacifica, CA and Margo Madison of Kiowa, OK; ten grandchildren; seventeen greatgrandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bert C. Rutherford and Pearl Faye (Compton) Tisdale; brothers, Jim Williams, Joe Williams and Lonnie Rutherford; sister, Velma Hobgood; and greatgreat granddaughter, Deborah Elizabeth Martin.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.
