Service Held for Albert Hendrix
Graveside service for Charles Albert Hendrix, a Coalgate resident, were held Wednesday (today) October 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Non Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hendrix was born on February 15, 1937, to Henry Harvey and Lessie Mary (Russell) Hendrix, at Non, Oklahoma. He passed away on October 4, 2026, at Coalgate, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 19 days. Charlie graduated from Gerty High School with the Class of 1955.
He married Janet Marie Hampton on August 16, 2001 at Coalgate. They enjoyed 25 years together. Charlie was a farmer and rancher, raised horses, worked in the oil field, for the pipe line, and also Townsco. He served in the U.S. Army. Charlie enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an expert gardener. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dogs, Buckshot and Della.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Marie Hendrix of the home in Coalgate; sons, Charlie Hendrix and wife Jeannine of Lake Fredrick, VA and Michael Hendrix of Wentzville, MO; daughter, Jeanne Newberry and husband Cody of Coalgate, OK; grandchildren, Jessica Ellis, William Hendrix, Hunter Davidson, Briar Davidson, Rainey Davidson, Emma Newberry and Callen Newberry; greatgrandchildren, Eloise Hendrix, Chloe Ellis, Levi Hendrix and Caleb Ellis; mother of his children, Emma “Sug” Hendrix of Coalgate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Harvey and Lessie May (Russell) Hendrix; and siblings, Vernis Hendrix, Norma Hipfner and Lou Fox.
Casketbearers were David Hendrix, Cody Newberry, Briar Davidson, Hunter Davidson, Richard Hipfner, William Hendrix and Rainey Davidson. Honorary bearers were Harry Farris, Richard Orr, Kenny Pebworth, Mark Dewberry, Daniel Pebworth and Robert Beck.
