Funeral services for Joyce Mae (Ward) Williams, a Boggy Depot resident, will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Eric Morris officiating. Burial will be in Ward Family Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements. Family night will be Wednesday, September 23, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Joyce was born on February 5, 1961 to Hillmon Bill Ward and Billie Jean (Lackey) Ward at Coalgate, OK. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 20, 2026 at home in Boggy Depot, OK., at the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 15 days. Joyce attended Cottonwood Elementary school, and graduated from Coalgate High School class of 1979.

Joyce retired from the Coal County Assessor’s office where she worked for 24 years. Her favorite job title was being a Mom, Ma, Mo, Grammy, and Aunt JoJo. She married Raymond “Hank” Williams on July 2, 1994 in Cairo, OK. Joyce enjoyed attending her grandkids sporting events, fishing, sewing, crafting, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Hank Williams; children, Evan Ward and partner Sara Jezierski of Atoka, Lyndi Waggaman and husband Taylor of Harrah, OK, Heather Morris and husband Eric, Amy Bolin and husband Brandon all of Atoka, OK and Mindy Cochran and husband Clay of Newcastle, OK; grandchildren, Corvan Ward, Tucker Morris, both of Atoka, Mason Cochran of Newcastle, Larae Bolin, Addison Morris, both of Atoka, Milo Cochran of Newcastle, Valeri Anderson of Atoka, Taylyn Waggaman and Ryder Waggaman, both of Harrah, OK; siblings, LaJeanna Fannin and husband Tommy of Atoka, Charla Gilleland and husband Rick of Rush Springs, OK, Donna Heck and husband Tom of Phillips, OK, Candy Griffin and husband Calvin of Cairo, OK, Freeda Ward of Tulsa, OK, Joe Ward and wife Rachael of Cairo, OK, Jerry Ward and wife Gaylynn of Phillips, OK and Stacy Rainey and husband Chris of Goldsby, OK; sistersin- law, Misty Ward of Coalgate and Teresa Wilson of McAlester, OK; special family friend, Milda Echelle of Oklahoma City; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of dearly loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Billie Jean (Lackey) Ward; brothers, Jimmy a. Wilson, Hillmon Bill Ward, Jr., and David Heath Ward.

Casketbearers will be Kevin Heck, Chase Heck, Patrick Griffin, Chance Griffin, Paden Ward, Prezton Ward, Jackson Ward, and Nathan Rainey. Serving as Honorary bearers will be Austin Ward, Dillon Ward, Chris Brannon, Jim Wilson, Clay Cochran, Brandon Bolin, Eric Morris, Taylor Waggaman, Corvan Ward, Tucker Morris, Mason Cochran, Milo Cochran and Ryder Waggaman.
