Traffic stop leads to three drug arrests

Two men and one female are facing drug charges following a routine traffic stop the evening of April 26 on CR 1630 near SH 48. Occupants of the stopped vehicle, a white Chevy pickup, included 40-year-old Jonathan Austin and his two passengers, Jason Wayne Sanders, 46, Tupelo, and Tara Leane Flint, 43, Coalgate.

Coal County OHCE Club, one of two groups in Coal County, presented a handmade quilt to Laverne Collins VFW Post 1198 in Coalgate as their community service project for OHCE Week 2025. Patrick Jackson, veteran and member of the Coalgate VFW Post 1198, accepted the gift from OHCE club members Barbara Elkins, Naomi Nichols, and Jahree Wilson.

Madalyn Campbell is the daughter of Lindsay Stephens and David Campbell. She is the granddaughter of Phyllis Grubbs and John and the late Mary Campbell. She has attended Tupelo School since elementary school. Her hobbies include shopping, hanging out with friends, reading, and painting. She is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society, National Honor Society, Superintendents Honor Roll, Yearbook, and the Newspaper. Her future plans are the attend a dental assistant program and later further her career in the dental field.
