Funeral services for JC Stiles, a Coalgate resident, will be held Wednesday (today), December 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Eddie Hogue officiating, assisted by Bill Thomas. Burial will be in Woodman Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate. Dinner will be served at Cottonwood Baptist Church prior to the funeral.

Two women charged with child endangerment

Ashley L. Olvera, 27, and Desirae D. Mazur, 28, both of Coalgate, have been charged with felony child endangerment for placing Olvera’s 4-year-old daughter in a vehicle driven by Mazur who was driving under the influence. Olvera was a passenger in the vehicle.

George Walker Chaney

George “Doc” Walker Chaney, a longtime Coalgate resident (formerly of Welch) was born on November 29, 1936, to George William and Bertha (McColloch) Chaney, at Vinita, Oklahoma. He passed away on November 16, 2024, at Coalgate, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 18 days.
