(I run this every year around Valentine’s Day. It emphasizes a truth that is branded on my heart and I am pleased to share it with you. Thanks, JBM) The following story is another life lesson I have learned from my long association with the Oklahoma Memorial.

I was watching TV last week and saw that the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority had decided to sort of back off doing much of anything for the time being. This was obviously a result of the “hornets’ nest” the authority stirred up with their proposed expansion of the Kickapoo.

A local wife was heard saying to her husband that she would like something shiny that would go from 0 – 200 in ten seconds for her 25th wedding anniversary. We later heard that he bought her a bathroom scale. We have not seen him since that time.

Following Anheuser-Busch’s embrace of a mentally ill man pretending to be a woman as the face of Bud Light, conservatives across the country showed their displeasure by boycotting the beer brand, causing Bud Light to lose more than $5 billion in market capitalization in the last week.

You may not have this noted on your calendar, but April 27 is the offi cial “Take your son or daughter to work day”.Not only that, but there is a national nonprofi t organization and a website, committed to the day: sonsanddaughterstowork. org.

I should have written American history. You know, the kind that tells how things were a long time ago, in America. Not much was recorded then and that is the beauty of it. I could say anything I want to. Who’s to know?

It’s Not Friday the 13th Friday the 13th missed it by one day in April but it was close enough to send some bad luck going around, so I decided to put it off a month but the bewitching atmosphere of that special occasion lingers on. Here’s a list of a few who didn’t escape the curse.1.

It seems to me that every generation since the Greatest Generation has gone downhill. Those of us in the Baby Boomer generation are a close second to the Greatest Generation in our minds and wonder how on earth this generation became so disgusting, stupid and immoral.

I have always been a strong supporter of Homeschooling. My youngest son Tim and his wife are homeschooling their children and I am so pleased. They not only have a Christian curriculum but also are teaching their boys auto-mechanics and teaching their daughter to cook, clean and learn finance.
