One Pharmacist’s View

Pinched in between the Corona Pandemic and the Presidential election this fall is the Venezuelan crisis which continues to live a life of its own. Or is it? President Trump was, before the Corona Virus reared its ugly head, moving more warships to the Venezuelan area.

Well, Nancy Pelosi gave in—finally—and signed the big Corona Bill that will hopefully give $1,200 in stimulus dollars to each taxpaying adult. The bill was stagnating for two or three days on her desk before she finally yielded to pressure and wrote her name on it.

Since I am not in the classroom anymore, I don’t have any reason to dread, fear, acknowledge or otherwise survive April Fool’s Day. It just simply isn’t on my busy retired schedule this year. It’s pretty profound.

Here it is. Another week. Same old Corona virus. Well not really. But it does make me think of the old 1918 Spanish Flu that swept the world. In 1918 there was not much radio and no TV. News traveled slow.

Okay, this week, you’ll be joining Julia as she tackles one of her favorite hobbies, baking. A while ago we received a recipe from a dear friend and reader from Lebanon Ohio, Auntie Norma, as we call her. She had sent a banana cake recipe and suggested that Julia would try making it.

I envy Kevin (not his real name). He thinks God lives under his bed. He was praying out loud in his dark bedroom one night and I stopped to listen. “Are you there, God?” he said. “Where are you? Oh, I see. Under the bed...” Kevin’s unique perspectives are often a source of amusement.
