by Tim Howell Band Director The Pride of Coalgate Concert Band qualified for state band contest by earning a Superior Rating on stage and in sightreading on March 4, 2025. The band has not qualified for state band contest since 1963 which was 62 years ago. This is a huge accomplishment for the band! On April 1, 2025 the band performed at state band contest at ECU. The band had their best performance at state! We received an Excellent Rating on stage and in sightreading! These students have worked really hard all year and have made school history this year. I am very proud of each and everyone of them! This group is only going to get better and better. The future is very bright! I am excited to be the band director here and can’t wait to see what we achieve in the future!
Read moreCongratulations to the 1985 Coalgate Wildcat Football team that will be inducted into the Coalgate High School Hall of Fame May 24th at 5:00 p.m. The ‘85 team deserves this honor as they finished the year with an 11-2 record and a trip to the Class A State Quarter Finals. Their record with the offensive and defensive accomplishments makes it one the best teams in Coalgate history. The Wildcat team was made up of 15 seniors, 6 juniors and 9 sophomores. The Wildcat coaches were Stan Addy, head coach, and Troy Byrd, Gary Hummingbird and Joe Clifton assistant coaches.

Read moreLaramie Beal was a dominant force on the softball field, whether it was in the circle pitching or in the batters box hitting. She absolutely took over games! Laramie is a 2012 graduate of Coalgate High School and a 2025 Hall of Fame inductee. Laramie’s high school honors include Player of the year as a freshman; MVP as a sophomore and a junior; Kiamichi All-Star as a senior; Athlete of the Year her senior year; and Honor Society for four years. As a senior she hit .504 with four home runs while having a 2.10 ERA in the circle.
