The Coalgate Wildcats put up a fight Friday night, but lost their second non-district game of the season.
Coalgate traveled to Antlers to battle the Bearcats.
LEFT—JUNIOR TREY WILKINSON #4 has been a workhorse for the Coalgate Wildcats this year. Friday night he rushed 16 times for 21 yards and also caught two passes. Last week he rushed 21 times for 74 yards.
The Coalgate Wildcats had a rough outing Friday night against rival Atoka.
The Boggy Bottom Bowl was the 108th matchup between the Coalgate Wildcats and the Atoka Wampus Cats, and was held at Donald Mike Mayer Field in Coalgate.
The final score of the non-district game was 33-14.
WHAT A SURPRISE FOR RYTHOM! WOW! Rythom Griffith caught this big 6 pound bass recently while fishing with his Papa Jim. The fish was so big it nearly pulled him in, but Papa Jim came to the rescue. “ANOTHER FISHERMAN IN THE FAMILY.” Rythom is the 7 year old son of Clayton and Tina Griffith.
Coalgate High School high jumper Cordell Brown will be attending East Central University next fall. On March 5, Cordell signed a letter of intent to join the ECU Tigers track and field team.
“It’s always been my plan to do track somewhere and I’m happy I’ll be able to do it at ECU,” he said.
Coalgate Lady Cats ended their fall season with the first ever birth to the State Tournament in Coalgate Schools history. Some goals were achieved last season, which some would say was a successful season.
The Choctaw Nation STAR Program rewards students who make that extra effort with their schoolwork. Choctaw students, second grade through 12th grade, bringing home all A’s on their report cards will each receive a $25 gift card, while a report card with at least all B’s nets a $10 gift card.
Hours after winning 2020 Coalgate Homecoming Queen, senior Rylie Wood capped off her night with an impressive game against the Tushka Tigers. Wood scored 14 points, pulled down 15 rebounds, and had 14 blocks to go with 5 steals.
The Coalgate Lady Cats had their first home game of 2020 on January 14 against Top Ten ranked Crowder, losing by a score of 39-63.
“Tough to come back from the break with Caddo and Crowder back to back,” said Coach Garrett Eaton.
