November 7, 2018, was a big day for Casey Stowe. It was the day he signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Northern Oklahoma College in Enid.

After a season full of milestones, the Coal-gate Wildcats’ hopes of a 2018 state championship ended Friday Night in Eufaula. The Wildcats fell to the Ironheads, known for a having a potent defense, 30-14.

The Coalgate Wildcats beat the Lexington Bulldogs 57-31 Friday night to advance in the Oklahoma Class 2A Playoffs. While the final score might leave one believing that it was a lopsided game, the first half was actually quite competitive.

The Coalgate Wildcats beat Marietta Friday night with a second-quarter surge from which the Indians couldn’t overcome. Head coach Rob Green said previous to the game that he planned to play Coalgate’s starters against Marietta. “We’re going all out,” Green said.

The Coalgate Wildcats had no trouble Friday night in defeating the Tishomingo Indians, 49-13. In fact, the Wildcats scored all 49 of their points in the first half. “It was a bad match-up,” head coach Rob Green said. “So we just kind of did what we wanted to do.

Senior Annie Yanez and Juniors Katyn Denson and Rylie Wood have been chosen to the Fastpitch Softball All-District Team. These girls represent Coalgate well on and off the field.

The Coalgate Wildcats overcame a poor first half Thursday night to beat the Davis Wolves, 20-6. The Wildcats didn’t have possession of the ball as much as they would have liked in the first quarter. The Wolves’ first drive took about eight minutes off the clock.

The Coalgate Wildcats on Friday bounced back from a loss in the previous week to beat the Lindsay Leopards in spectacular fashion. The running game was perhaps the dominant force of the night as the Wildcats amassed 407 rushing yards.
