Carter Brooks Derrick

Graveside services for Carter Brooks Derrick, anAda resident, were held Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Coalgate Cemetery with Rev. Claude Lovett officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of the arrangements.

Carter was born on May 27, 1959, to John Burton Sr. and Rosemary (Perkins) Derrick, at Coalgate, Oklahoma. He passed away on May 26, 2025, at Ada, Oklahoma, at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 29 days. Carter attended school at Coalgate. He was a hi-tech mechanic and loved working on old cars. Carter was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Johnathan Derrick of Ada; siblings, John Burton Derrick Jr. of Ada and Mary Ann Shores and husband Johnny also of Ada; cousin Kevin Perkins of Tulsa, OK; aunt Rebecca Perkins of DeQueen, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Burton, Sr. and Rosemary (Perkins) Derrick and brothers, Thomas “Tom” William Derrick and David Murrell Derrick.

Casketbearers were family and friends.
