Our sympathy is extended to the family of Dortha June (Powell) Baumert

Graveside services for Dortha June (Powell) Baumert, a Coalgate resident, will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Centrahoma Cemetery with Mr. Jesse Cate officiating. Family night will be Thursday evening 6 to 8 p.m. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Baumert was born on February 1, 1947, to Carl Odell and Eunice Dean (Hudson) Powell, at Atoka, Oklahoma and passed away on January 2, 2026, at Coalgate, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 1 day.

Dortha graduated from Coalgate High School with the Class of 1965. She worked as a machinist at Blue Bell, later known as Wrangler, until they closed down. Dortha later worked at Ethan Allen, Globe in Ada, and also cooked for the senior citizens. She married Michael Roy Baumert on June 30, 1989, at Durant. They were blessed with 36 years together. Dortha was a member of the Coalgate Church of Christ. She liked garage selling. Dortha enjoyed going to Branson, the McGee Creek Lake and many other places. She will be missed.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Baumert of Coalgate; daughter-in-law, Donna Watson of Stonewall; step-daughter, Melissa Stover and husband William of Olney; grandchildren, Tasha Cate and husband Clayton, Traci Watson and Kent Kerr all of Stonewall, Rachel Martin and husband Kyle, Tom Patterson, all of Tupelo, Bree Settlemire and husband Ethan of Boggy Depot, Brandon Lee of Coalgate, Brittnee Wilson and husband Clay, Brandee Stover all of Olney; sisters, Frances Brown of Phillips, Lois Miller and husband Mark of Durant and Patsy Brown and husband Phillip of Olney; twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Odell and Eunice Dean (Hudson) Powell; son, Tony Watson; and grandchildren, Deborah Martin and Diesel Baumert.

Casketbearers will be Tom Patterson, Justin Brown, Jason Watson, Bryer Martin, Clayton Cate, and Kyle Martin. Serving as honorary bearers are Mark Miller, Phillip Brown, Amy Brown, Travis Brown, John Mark Miller, Jamie Miller, Jason Miller, Scott Brown, Trevor Brown, Denim Brown, Tyler Brown, Brandon Lee, Raylin Manning and Ethan Settlemire.
