Arthur Lee Blevins

The graveside service to celebrate the life of Arthur Lee Blevins, better known as “Buddy”, will be held on Saturday, June 27, at 10 AM at the Centrahoma Cemetery in Centrahoma, OK.

Buddy was born on January 21, 1951 in Centrahoma to Willie and Effie Mae Blevins, the eleventh of twelve children. He passed from this world and entered into the loving arms of Jesus on October 31, 2025. He is laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, OK. Per his wishes, he wanted to have a headstone in Centrahoma to reunite him on the same ground where his parents, paternal grandparents, his two brothers, eight of his nine sisters, and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins all lay at rest until the Resurrection. This service is not just to dedicate the headstone, but to celebrate his life and the re-unification of a family who have now all passed from this world.

Buddy attended school in Tupelo, OK. In his high school years, he was the wing guard for the Tigers basketball team, and the catcher for the baseball team. He graduated as Class President in 1969. His best friends from Tupelo were CD Sprouse and Val Dean Smith.

After Tupelo, Buddy enlisted in the United States Army, serving two years active duty, including one year in Vietnam.

After the Army, Buddy enrolled at Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelors in Science.

After OSU, Buddy moved to the town that became his home, Enid. He first worked for an oil company at the height of the Oklahoma Oil Boom of the 1970s. There, he met the woman who became the love of his life, Barbara Gannon. They married in 1980. After the oilfield went bust, Buddy made his living in the trade he learned as a teenager in Tupelo, roofing. Buddy roofed tens of thousands of homes all over Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas. He retired in 2018, passing the business to one of his sons.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his sons Jeremy, Judd, and Dustin, daughters Holly and Jessica, their spouses, six grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Although Buddy made Northwest Oklahoma his home, he never forgot his Southeast Oklahoma roots. Our family warmly invites anyone who knew Buddy from his Coal County youth to join us this Saturday and share stories of the man we were so incredibly blessed to have had as our husband, father, and papa. We want to emphasize this will not be a second funeral, but truly a celebration of Buddy and his legacy.
