A memorial service for Fred Patrick Lowry, a longtime Atoka resident, was held Friday, March 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Tony Potts officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lowry was born December 1, 1957 to Fred “Crockett” and Bobbye June (Winters) Lowry at Coalgate, OK and passed away March 16, 2026 at Atoka at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 15 days. He graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1976 and went on to SOSU where he received a double major in Psychology and Sociology.

Fred worked for the State of Oklahoma as a juvenile officer, in probation and parole, and worked previously in child welfare. He then worked for Carl Albert in Atoka. Fred was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, (deer, rabbit, squirrel, quail), fishing, camping, gardening, especially tomatoes, listening to music, all genres. Fred enjoyed cooking anything and everything, frying fish and squirrel dumplings. He always had a trusty Beagle dog, especially during rabbit hunting. Fred enjoyed watching the History channel, Lonesome Dove, The Andy Griffin Show, Weather Channel and would remind the family to watch the storms. He loved visiting with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Kellie Sue Lowry of Durant; children, Jennifer Lowry, David Lowry, both of Atoka, Leslie Manion and husband Kerwin of Wardville, Samantha Lowry and Ronnie Lowry, both of Durant; granddaughters, Jordan Hill, Aniston Manion and Maddyn Manion all of Wardville; sister, Debbie Smithart of Atoka; niece, Tera Navarro and husband, Tony of Atoka; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred “Crockett” and Bobbye Lowry and brother, Ronny Lowry.

Honorary casketbearers were Tony Potts, Tony Cochran, Dennis McNeil, Dallas Wilson, David Webster, Robert Powell, Craig Jones, Bo Don Cox, Clifford Brown and Vince Beck.
