Funeral services for Reinee Layke Marie Logue, a Lehigh, OK resident, were held Tuesday March 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bryan McMorris and Jim Lewis officiating. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery, Lehigh, OK with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Marzella passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in Atoka, OK. She graduated from Atoka High School in 1966. She attended Job Corp in Mckinney, Texas and later attended Grayson County Community College where she received an Associate’s Degree in 1975. While attending school she worked at Hubbard Nursing home and later was an LPN at the Atoka Hospital, where she retired after 32 years. Marzella often worked at Coal County Hospital, and the Atoka Nursing Home.

The annual event is part of Read Across America, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association. Mrs. Romano baked the cake and cupcakes that were enjoyed by staff and students throughout the day. Students enjoyed hearing many of their favorite Dr. Suess stories. Several visitors read to the students.
Read moreLOCAL STUDENTS ATTEND PUBLIC SPEAKING TRAINING — Members of the Coalgate FCCLA chapter attended the Get SET Conference on January 10 in McAlester. Get SET stands for Speaking Excellence Training. These conferences are presented by the Oklahoma FCCLA Association in conjunction with Your Next Speaker. The Get SET Conference is designed for 8 -10 grade FCCLA members. The purpose of Speaking Excellence Training is to teach students how to enjoy the process of preparing to give their best at an FCCLA STAR Event competition or speaking opportunity. The training was led by Rhett Laubach and Kelly Barnes. The intra-curricular CareerTech Student Organization, FCCLA, is an integral part of the Oklahoma CareerTech System and supports family and consumer sciences education for students in grades six through adult. FCCLA is one of seven CTSOs affiliated with CareerTech career areas.
