Service held for Herschel Lee Weathers

Funeral services for Herschel Lee Weathers, a Coalgate resident, were held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor David Unsell officiating, assisted by Pastor Dennis Osborne. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Time to request absentee ballots for April 5 school election

The deadline to request absentee ballots for the April 5th Atoka School, Allen School and Wapanucka School Board of Education General Election is approaching. Applications must be received by the Coal County Election Board no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 21.

Deadline approaching to change party affiliation

Oklahomans who want to change party affiliation must submit their change no later than March 31, Coal County Election Board Secretary Amber Fanning said today. Voters may change their party affiliation online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp or by completing a new Voter Registration Application.
