With Chloe On The Mound, Coalgate Wildcats Varsity Shuts Out Tushka. Chloe Brown threw a gem on Monday for Coalgate Wildcats Varsity, allowing zero runs and besting Tushka by a score of 8-0. Coalgate Wildcats Varsity secured the victory thanks to six runs in the third inning. Jaci Lackey, Kaylie Trevathan, Macy Delozier, and Josi Lackey all drove in runs in the frame. One bright spot for Tushka was a single by #24 in the fourth inning. Brown led things off in the circle for Coalgate Wildcats Varsity. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero. Coalgate Wildcats Varsity tallied ten hits on the day. Lackey and Brown each had multiple hits for Coalgate Wildcats Varsity. Lackey led Coalgate Wildcats Varsity with three hits in four at bats. #24 went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Tushka in hits.

WE REMEMBER 9/11/01

WE REMEMBER 9/11/01 — Coalgate Fire Department/EMS joined other fire departments around the nation on September 11 in remembrance and honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to save the lives of others. The Coalgate Fire Department’s American flag was hoisted from the department’s ladder truck above a mound of firefighter helmets and bunker gear. For all the men and women who were killed during the 9/11 attacks, countless lives were saved by the bravery of others. 343 firefighters and 2,997 civilians lost their lives. —Photo by Sherry Loudermilk

A tailgate party hosted by Shamrock Bank will kick off the 2021 Coalgate High School football homecoming. The tailgate party will be held on the bank parking lot from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The bank invites everyone to join them for food, drinks and fun.
