Funeral services for Margie “Virginia” Spears, age 94, a longtime Atoka, OK resident were held Wednesday, (today) at 2:00 p.m. September 9, 2026 at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Ron Cunningham and Kay Seaton officiated. Burial will be in Tushka Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Virginia was born on Tuesday, July 19, 1932, to Joe and Elizabeth (Hudson) Woolf, at Cloud Chief, OK and passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Coalgate, OK. She attended Community Chapel and Kiowa Schools.

Virginia was a housewife, a quilter, a housekeeper for Canaday Nursing Home and was a cook for Sooner Cafe. She married Frank Bryant on September 2, 1947 in Atoka, OK, he preceded her in death on May 8, 1980. She married Earnest Combs and later married Norman Spears on November 21, 1986 who preceded her in death on July 22, 2000.

Virginia was raised in the Pentecostal faith. She attended Stringtown Assembly of God Church for many years then Atoka Assembly of God. Her favorite hobby was quilting, she quilted for 50 years and she enjoyed cats. The past few years she enjoyed coloring and her crossword puzzles.

Virginia is survived by her son, H.L. Bryant of Atoka, OK; daughters, JoLee Wharton and husband Herb of Lane, OK, Nora Bryant and Donnie Colson of Healdton, OK; grandchildren, Lauren Lytle of Atoka, OK, Robin Lewis and husband Jeff of Hartshorne, OK, Ray Bryant and wife Vanessa of Broken Arrow, OK, Randy Bryant and Kerrie Carter of Ada, OK, Tina Natoli of Dallas, TX, Sherri Martin of Atoka, OK, Ernest Combs and wife April of Ardmore, OK, Frank Martin and wife Rae of Atoka, OK; 23 great grand children; 25 greatgreat grandchildren; brother, Mark Woolf and wife Lela of Carthridge, TX; sister, Thenie Tindall of Center, TX; sister-in-law, Thelma Woolf of Atoka, OK; special friend Benna Cochran; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Woolf and Elizabeth (Hudson) Woolf-Baker; husbands, Frank Bryant, Norman Spears; son, Andy Bryant; brothers, Joe Woolf, Tommy Woolf; sister, Sandra Woolf ; daughters in law, Gail Bryant, Michelle Bryant; son-in-law, Virgil Martin; 3 great-grandbabies; and 2 great-great-grandbabies.

Casketbearers will be Caysen Bryant, Robert Martin, Dusty Bryant, Taylor Martin, Cheyenne Bryant, and Ethan Martin.
