Blackhawk Services receives Community Service Award

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD — The Coal County Chamber of Commerce presents Chuck Horton, founder and owner of Blackhawk Services in Coalgate, and son Tagus Horton a Community Service Award in recognition of the company’s dedication and support of the community by providing quality jobs to Coal County citizens. From left - Tagus Horton, Chuck Horton, Betty Keilty, Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board, and Johnny Sandmann, President. Two weeks after Chuck’s high school graduation in 1987, he took a roughneck job and believed he had found his future career path in the oil and gas industry. Thirty-two plus years later, the oilfields of Oklahoma and beyond remain a constant in Chuck’s life. Today, along with his son Tagus, he operates his own business that provides a host of services. Blackhawk continues to take care of customers’ needs from start to finish – from groundbreaking to ongoing maintenance for rig pads and roustabout work to construction-type projects. Building office buildings and gas-plant facilities, Blackhawk can provide construction of tank batteries and compressors, install piping and hookups for different areas at well sites as well as maintain pipeline facilities by sandblasting, painting, and blading lease roads. Blackhawk also has tanker trucks that haul water as well as transport well mud. Hauling rock, dirt, sand, gravel and equipment with eight to nine crews and staff of 75, Blackhawk covers all of Oklahoma and completes projects in several other states.
