Sara Ellen Schrock Passes Away

Services for Sara Ellen Schrock of Coalgate will be Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at the Daniel Troyer Residence with Minister Abe Hershberger officiating, assisted by Allen Yoder. Interment will be in Clarita Amish Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.

First Time since 1963

by Tim Howell Band Director The Pride of Coalgate Concert Band qualified for state band contest by earning a Superior Rating on stage and in sightreading on March 4, 2025. The band has not qualified for state band contest since 1963 which was 62 years ago. This is a huge accomplishment for the band! On April 1, 2025 the band performed at state band contest at ECU. The band had their best performance at state! We received an Excellent Rating on stage and in sightreading! These students have worked really hard all year and have made school history this year. I am very proud of each and everyone of them! This group is only going to get better and better. The future is very bright! I am excited to be the band director here and can’t wait to see what we achieve in the future!

Remembering the Oklahoma City Bombing, 30 Years Later

Sunday, April 19, marks the 30th anniversary of the bombing of the Alfred R. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The 1995 bombing killed 168 people, including 19 children, and injured hundreds more in what was then the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
