Sally, a Wardville resident, was born on March 19, 1953 to Ray Bernard and Ruby May (Hooe) Williams, at McAlester, OK and passed away July 29, 2025 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 10 days. Sally graduated from Kiowa High School and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree at the Oklahoma State University. She was a member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed ranching and fishing.

Funeral services for Darrin Jay Laudermilk will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Prentiss Reves officiating. Burial will be in Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral service in charge of arrangements. Darrin Jay Laudermilk was born August 2, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away July 19th, 2025, at the age of 65 at his home in Wickes, Arkansas.

Funeral services for Barbara June (Hampton) Cameron-Stuart, a McAlester resident, was held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Coalgate First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. Family night was Friday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and burial was in Moore cemetery in Clarita. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Cameron- Stuart was born on July 27, 1954, to Charles Loy and Valencia Mae (Davidson) Hampton, at their home in Olney, Oklahoma. She passed away on July 21, 2025, at Ada, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 24 days. Barbara attended Olney School. She spent the first half of her life married to Fred Hall and together they raised their children, Jim and Sandra. But not just their children, Barbara took in many children and loved them like her own. She later married Gordon Cameron-Stuart on June 23, 1981, at Vernon, Texas. They were blessed with 29 years together before his passing on February 3, 2011. She worked various jobs through the years from being a counselor at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary where she helped inmates reacclimate into society, to getting her CDL and driving a truck all over the U.S. She managed several EZ Mart stores in McAlester, managed the Greyhound Bus Station in McAlester and also owned and operated the cab company in McAlester before her retirement.

Laura Jo Hardin, 50, Lehigh, was charged August 1 with misdemeanor uttering a forged instrument after she was arrested for paying for items at Family Dollar Store in Coalgate with a counterfeit $100 bill. Coalgate Police Officer Hoe Nguyen was dispatched to Family Dollar the evening of July 29 regarding the counterfeit bill. Upon arriving at the store, Nguyen met with the reporting clerk who showed him the surveillance footage of the incident. The video showed a female later identified as Laura Har- din making a purchase using a $100 bill. The cashier inspected the bill multiple times before accepting it as payment for Hardin’s purchases, which totaled $42.22, and Hardin was then given $57.78 in change. Hardin told the cashier that she received the money from her boyfriend. The clerk told Nguyen that the female suspect frequently comes to the store late at night to buy groceries and is often seen walking around the area. Nguyen returned to the store the following day and collected voluntary statements from the store manager that the clerk and cashier had furnished her. When he showed her a picture of a female identified as Hardin, the manager positively identified Laura Hardin as the suspect.
