The Coal County Library held a town meeting June 6th, to engage with our local and State leaders. There were 16 people total in attendance. Senator Jerry Alvord discussed his time with being a county commissioner for eight years then going on to being an ACCO official before running and being elected as a state senator. Mr. Alvord discussed the new budget for the state and the natural tax capture process, he also discussed some of the Senate bills that he had personally brought to the House floor involving transit worker abuse, deed theft, mainly targeting senior citizens, along with AI abuse.
