Lois Shearer Cook, age 95, died in Dallas, TX on the 15th of April 2026.She was born in Non, Oklahoma, the first of eight children to H.C. Shearer and Bernice Willis Shearer. She was raised in Coalgate, Oklahoma, and later moved to Oklahoma City, where she worked for the telephone company.

A memorial service for Jerry Wayne Edge will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Coalgate Cemetery in Coalgate, Oklahoma with Chaplain Louis Reynolds officiating. The burial of cremains will follow.

Funeral services for Gail Prestine (Jones) Harjo, a McLoud resident, were held Friday, April 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Eddie Hogue officiating. Burial was in Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Steven Guy Newton, a Coalgate resident, was born on November 30, 1960, to Steven Arthur Newton and Gertrude Ann (Lee) Corser, at Queens, New York. He passed away on April 7, 2026, at Coalgate, Oklahoma, at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 8 days. Steven attended school at Athol High School.
